Yes. The developers behind TornPal have extensive experience working in cybersecurity, and are well known in the Torn community. Your data is stored in a protected database, and we have strict firewall and access control systems to prevent unauthorised users from accessing it. All connections to TornPal are conducted over TLS/SSL, and private data is never shared with other people unless you authorise it and provide the correct credentials to them (your API key).
By signing in to TornPal with your API key, you are authorising us to collect all information available from Torn's API for you, to enable you to use this platform and associated services. In addition to this, we monitor logins to our platform using your IP and browser information to detect and prevent abuse. All of this information may be shared with Torn staff and management to help prevent/detect cheating and abuse. We are hoping to have a data export feature in the near future to enable you to download all the information contained in our database for your player ID.
Collected data is used for several purposes, as outlined below:
Where data is used for research purposes, identifying information such as your player ID and name is removed. We will always seek to limit the amount of data provided to researchers to only include what is absolutely essential for their purpose. All such anonymised data is reviewed prior to being given to them, and will only be provided to credible parties with a legitimate purpose and under the strict understanding it will not be further shared without authorisation. All research purposes must release their findings into the public domain, ie a Torn forum post, for the benefit of others, free of charge.
IP addresses, browser information and anything else not gathered via the Torn API will never be shared with anyone except for senior Torn staff (for official purposes) and the core developers of TornPal.
Information gathered by TornPal is not subject to being manually reviewed by developers or staff, unless it is necessary for the purpose of diagnosing a technical error or providing user support (ie missing payments).
TornPal is jointly owned and managed by Glasnost [1844049] and rDacted [2670953].
Glasnost is the primary developer of the web platform and underlying databases.
rDacted is the primary developer of user scripts and integrations, and served as the inspiration for many of the services on offer.
Any official staff requests for data should be directed to either Glasnost or rDacted using Torn's mail system, we cannot provide data for staff purposes via Discord.
Technically speaking, having received qualified advice, no. We do not collect or store personally identifiable information which falls within the scope of GDPR, and much of the data (ie your Torn username, ID) collected is public data.
We do store IP address information when you log in to our services, as well as some browser information such as the browser and version you are running, to help us detect and prevent abuse. However, this is covered by the Article 6 section 1(f) provisions as a legitimate interest in processing for the purpose of preventing abuse.
By using our services, you are agreeing to us storing this information.
Payments are checked for automatically. Once this is detected, it will be credited to your account immediately.
In our experience, almost all payments are credited within 60 seconds of being sent. If you have waited more than 5 minutes and it is still not showing on your account, please Message Glasnost [1844049] on Discord or in Torn for support.
We use Torn's official market value of accepted items which have a stable price range. The live valuation of items are displayed on the payments page for your convenience. Please note that the value credited to your account will be calculated at the market value of the item at the time it is received.
In the rare event you do not receive the credit you were expecting for an item, please contact us on Discord or Torn using the links at the bottom of this page and we will investigate this straight away.
Due to the limitations of Torn's API, all payouts must be processed manually by our team. This may mean there is a delay of up to 12 hours in the payout, but most are handled within 2 hours.
Once you have requested your payout, please be patient with us. We handle a high volume of transactions, and repeated messages to our staff will not speed up the process. When you request a payout, our team is automatically notified of this.
When requesting a payout, in most cases you will receive two options to receive this: Item Payout or Cash Payout.
Item Payouts are the most common, safest and quickest way to receive your payout. You will receive everything at full market value, and they are safe from potential mugging. You may select your payout item of choice at the point of requesting the payout. There are no fees for using this method.
Cash Payouts are also an option, but due to the risk of mugging, are far less common and inherently risky. When cash is used, this will be sent as soon as our staff see your request - we cannot hold onto it until you are online/available as it is tricky to manage with many payments. Please remember that with cash payouts, there may be a small withdrawal fee to cover the losses we incur when converting items to cash. This fee will be stated on the payout page before you confirm the payout request.
By having minimal payout thresholds, we can ensure that payments are processed quickly, and our staff are not tied up with repeated small requests. We believe our threshold is fair and easily achievable. If this minimum payment threshold is causing difficulties for you, please speak to our staff in the support channel who can assist you further.
No. All payouts must be delivered to the person named in the account. We cannot transfer balances between accounts, nor pay out to your friend/faction. This is to prevent abuse of our systems.
We regularly scan Torn's active player base for changes. This is normal for a lot of services out there, but we do additional layers of analysis on the data we collect.
In the case of muggings, we use publicly-available data from the Torn API to narrow down the list of suspects, based upon their activity patterns around the time the mug took place. We then further narrow this down by looking for unique "signatures" of your mugging, such as the incidence of critical hits, damage inflicted, weapons used and more. Bounty reveals work in a very similar way.
With this information, we are usually able to present a small list of suspects, which we try to order by probability they were behind the mug/bounty. Unfortunately, this information cannot be guaranteed to be accurate, but it is a lot faster and cheaper than the alternatives. In most cases, people will look at this list and immediately know who it was, for example they recently traded with them or have an ongoing grudge.
It is important to stress that while we do collect information from many users, for this service we only use the publicly available data. If you sign up with us, we will not use your private data to "confirm" an anonymous mug. Whether or not you use our service is irrelavent to us being able to provide the list.
Our website is built primarily using Laravel (PHP). Connected to this is a host of other services and software, such as Redis for caching, MongoDB and MariaDB for data storage, Nginx for the web server and we use Cloudflare to help protect our infrastructure further. All of our servers run on Linux (Ubuntu in most cases).
Non-public infrastructure also plays a role in our systems. For example, we use Grafana and Prometheus to monitor our server performance and key metrics, as well as Uptime Kuma for monitoring our own APIs and Torn's API. This helps us diagnose issues quickly and identify any performance pain points.
We regularly backup our data to Amazon S3, due to it having a low cost and high durability. This provides us greater safety as our backups are stored in a different geographical area and with another provider than our main infrastructure, which is hosted in Germany.
For issues relating to the TornPal web platform or payments, contact Glasnost [1844049] using the link at the bottom of this page. Discord or Torn messages can be used.
For userscript issues, please contact rDacted [2670953], links for which are also to the bottom of this page.
For serious bugs or issues you report to us, we may, at our discretion, award Torn cash or item prizes as tokens of appreciation.
This is unfortunately an issue out of our hands, as Cloudflare provide the anti-bot verification service. Please read their documentation on suggested steps, and if all else fails, try again a few minutes later.
We ask that anyone who uses TornPal, does so to both the letter and spirit of Torn's rules. That means, if you think you shouldn't do something there, don't do it here. If asked, we will always comply with formal requests from senior Torn staff unless there is a legal reason not to.
That being said, we do have a few additional rules for our platform that we ask are observed. Failure to comply with them, or abuse of any kind, will result in a ban from TornPal. These include:
Users who are banned from the platform, will have their access removed, and any credit stored in your account will not be refunded unless exceptional circumstances apply. We will hold sole discretion as to the qualifying criteria in each case for this.
In the first instance, please join our Discord and speak to our support team, who may be able to explain the reasons behind your ban, and you may discuss it with them. Our support team do not however have the power to unban you immediately, so please be patient with them as they may need to liase with developers or other staff for information and decisions.
If you remain dissatisfied with the result of your appeal via Discord, you may message the developers of TornPal via Torn (details of them are at the bottom of this page). Please include which member of the support team you have discussed this with first in your message, so we can quickly find out more information about your case.
Please remember that being banned on TornPal has no impact or influence on your Torn profile or account. Torn Staff are unable to unban you from this platform. Please do not harass them with requests for this - they have enough on their plate to deal with already.
If somebody has broken the rules of Torn, please speak to a member of the Torn Staff team, or click "Report" on their profile, filling in the appropriate information. This will then be handled by Torn staff.
For any rule-breaking specific to our platform, such as a misuse of our tools, please message a developer or our support team via Discord or Torn.
If you can't find question in our FAQ, you can contact us. We'll answer as soon as we can so please be patient!
